1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to americansporteducation.com, member accounts, and online course enrollment services (the “Site”), operated by American Sport Education (“ASE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not apply to third-party websites or services linked from the Site.
2. Information we collect
Account and enrollment information
When you create an account or enroll, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, organization, city, state, selected course, consent date, enrollment date, and enrollment status. Microsoft Entra External ID authenticates customer accounts. ASE does not receive or store your Microsoft password.
Communications and technical information
If you contact us, we receive the information in your message. Our hosting and security providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, and access time to deliver and protect the Site.
Anonymous site analytics
To understand Site usage, ASE records anonymous page views using random first-party visitor and session identifiers. Analytics records include a hashed identifier, requested page, date and time, and referring domain when available. ASE does not store your name, email address, or IP address in these analytics records.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain member accounts;
- Record, administer, and report course enrollments and completion status;
- Communicate about ASE programs and respond to requests;
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
- Prevent misuse and protect our rights, users, and systems; and
- Meet legal and regulatory obligations.
4. How we disclose information
Authorized ASE staff can access member and enrollment records as needed to administer programs. We may also disclose information to service providers that support authentication, Azure hosting and database storage, security, email, and information technology, subject to appropriate obligations. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or rights, or in connection with a business reorganization or transfer.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The member portal uses essential session cookies to keep you signed in securely and protect account actions. The Site also uses a first-party anonymous visitor cookie lasting up to one year and a session cookie lasting up to 30 minutes to count unique browsers and sessions. These cookies are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can remove them through your browser settings. Hosting infrastructure may maintain server logs to provide, secure, and diagnose the service.
6. Data retention
We retain account and enrollment records for as long as reasonably necessary to administer learning records, document consent, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain program integrity. Anonymous analytics records and other technical information are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to understand Site usage, operate the service, and protect its security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can update profile information from your member dashboard. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information, subject to applicable law and legitimate needs to retain enrollment, completion, security, or compliance records. Email info@americansportinstitute.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity.
8. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for sport professionals, educators, organizations, and general audiences; it is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no online service, email transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. International visitors
ASE and its service providers operate in the United States. If you access the Site from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Site, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated through an additional notice on the Site.
